OnBoard Outsourcing

Voice & Network Specialist

Philippines

Position Overview

We’re seeking a motivated and versatile Voice & Network Specialist to join our Network Operations Centre (NOC) team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys troubleshooting both voice and data issues, and brings energy and empathy to customer interactions.

You’ll be the go-to technical contact for Level 2/3 support, managing incidents and requests related to Hosted Network’s voice and network infrastructure. Your day will involve hands-on configuration, proactive monitoring, and real-time support — all while working closely with internal teams and MSP partners.

This is a customer-facing position, so clear communication and a service mindset are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 2/3 support for both voice (SIP, PBX, SBC) and network (routing, switching, WAN) issues.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting VoIP call quality, SIP registration, packet loss, or data outages.
  • Provision and configure services across both voice and data platforms (e.g. SIP trunks, BGP sessions, VLANs, VRFs).
  • Manage firewalls, routers, switches, SBCs, and monitoring tools to ensure network stability and performance.
  • Handle escalations from junior support and follow through to resolution.
  • Document technical processes, incidents, and recurring issues for internal knowledge sharing.
  • Participate in network upgrades, maintenance, and automation initiatives.
  • Liaise with upstream providers and hardware vendors when necessary.
  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and partners, owning communication and resolution from end to end.

Ideal Candidate Attributes

More than specific skills, we hire attitude-first. You should be someone who:

  • Is curious and self-motivated — the kind of person who tinkers with networking gear or VoIP systems in their spare time.
  • Thrives on solving problems and constantly looks for ways to improve systems.
  • Takes pride in helping customers, even under pressure.
  • Loves learning and sharing knowledge.
  • Is adaptable, responsive to feedback, and sees challenges as opportunities.

Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Minimum 2–3 years in a technical ISP, VoIP, or NOC environment.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, NAT, QnQ).
  • Proficiency in Juniper SRX/MX, Mikrotik, or similar network infrastructure.
  • Experience managing SIP-based voice systems, including PBXs, SBCs, and call flows.
  • Familiarity with Wireshark, RTP streams, and SIP troubleshooting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as Zabbix, PRTG, or LibreNMS.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Asterisk3CX, or Microsoft Teams Direct Routing.
  • Exposure to Fortigate firewalls or AudioCodes/Sonus SBCs.
  • Understanding of BNG, RADIUS, LNS/LAC for subscriber management.
  • Network certifications (e.g., CCNA, JNCIA, NSE, or equivalent).
  • Basic scripting skills (Python, Ansible, or similar) for automation.

What You’ll Get

  • Fully remote work flexibility.
  • Company-provided equipment and tools.
  • A supportive team and career development path.
  • Exposure to advanced ISP infrastructure and carrier-grade systems.
  • The chance to contribute meaningfully to an innovative and growing telco.
