Accounts Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries for multiple businesses.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial records.
  • Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of supporting information for financial statements and reports.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure compliance with financial regulations and procedures including preparation of BAS, IAS and Payroll Tax.
  • Conduct periodic audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Provide support during financial audits.
  • Lead payroll processing and related tasks.
  • Stay up-to-date with accounting software and technology to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Handle ad-hoc financial tasks and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • Minimum three (3) years proven experience as a Finance Officer, Bookkeeper, or similar role, preferably for an Australian business.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Xero would be amazing
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with IT companies preferred but not required.
  • Certification (e.g CPA, CA) is a plus, but not required.
